SAIT’s Campus Centre redevelopment project has resulted in a main sidewalk by the SAIT/AUArts/Jubilee train station being closed resulting in heavy pedestrian traffic on the only other remaining walkway.

The enclosed walkway leads students to the crosswalk in front of the Johnson-Cobbe Energy Centre which has resulted in a near-constant flow of pedestrians crossing the street during early morning rush hour.

Drivers report that this once swift 4-way stop now takes 5 minutes to get through.

The old Campus Centre used to have a walkway connecting to the train station providing a shortcut to the campus, but was closed down last year, much to the dismay of students using transit.

SAIT’s Campus Centre reconstruction is set to be completed in 2025.
