Dustin Wolf impressing in his rookie season.

Calgary Flames rookie goaltender, Dustin Wolf has had a flaming hot start to the 2024-2025 NHL season.

The Flames came into the year with uncertainty when it came to the goalie department as the Flames traded Jacob Markstrom in the off-season but Wolf has been able to stabilize the position.

Wolf was very decorated at the AHL level with the Calgary Wranglers, where he won the 2023 Les Cunningham Award which is the AHL MVP award and two Aldege “Baz” Bastien Award which is awarded to the AHL’s most outstanding goaltender.

So far Wolf has posted a 0.921 save percentage and a 2.53 goals against average which put him in the top 15 in both stat categories.

To start the season Wolf has shared the net with his tandem partner, Daniel Vladar who has also put up solid numbers this season.

Wolf’s solid start has helped lift the Flames to 4th place in the Pacific division and the 1st wild card position in the Western Conference.

For the Flames to stay in the playoff race they will likely need Wolf to keep up his performance between the pipes.
