The Southern Alberta Female Football League (SAFFL) is gearing up for its 2nd ever season, with games held on Sundays from April and into June. The league features 6 teams, 4 of which are clubs in the Calgary Bantam Football Association (CBFA).

The Calgary Bantam Football Association will get underway in late August, however, Grant Pollock, long-time public address announcer will not be on the mic this season, as he’ll be moving out east to focus on spending time with his family. The CBFA board of directors are wishing Pollock the best.

The 2025 CBFA season will also be the 2nd straight season without the Hilltoppers, despite historical dominance, the Hilltoppers’ program was paused in 2024. The Rebels organization merged with the Hilltoppers boundaries. As of April, 2025, there is no news on a potential return of the Hilltoppers.

The 2024 season saw giants fall and underdogs triumph. In week 1, the Rebels won its first game in 3 years, and went on to win the Div-III championship. On the other side of the spectrum, the Cowboys, the reigning Div-I champions of multiple seasons, failed to make it past the semifinals of Div-II.

Anything can happen for the 2025 football season, and fans are certainly ready for it.
