Observed annually on April 7, Green Shirt Day honors the life of Logan Boulet, a Humboldt Broncos player whose decision to become an organ donor after the 2018 tragedy saved six lives. His selfless act launched the Logan Boulet Effect, inspiring nearly 150,000 new donor registrations and shifted national awareness around organ donation.
“This day is about more than a shirt,” said Bernadine Boulet, Logan’s mother. “Our hope is that the 2025 launch will inspire conversations between families and friends. When people share their stories, they inspire new donors to register. That’s the true power of Green Shirt Day.”

This year also brought recognition for the advocacy behind the movement. Toby and Bernadine Boulet were awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal by the Kidney Foundation of Canada for their dedication to promoting organ donation awareness.
“It’s a wonderful honor to be recognized,” said Toby Boulet, “but the real honor is seeing Canadians step up, take action, and keep Logan’s legacy alive.”
