Despite being eliminated from playoff contention, the Calgary Flames received a heartfelt standing ovation from fans at the Scotiabank Saddledome after their 5–4 shootout win over the Vegas Golden Knights.
The fans recognized the team’s relentless effort and hard work throughout a challenging season, even though they fell short of making the playoffs due to wins by the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild. Flames defenceman MacKenzie Weegar acknowledged the fans’ support, calling them “intelligent” for appreciating the team’s grind and dedication.
