Astro manger Dusty Baker step down

After they lost 11-4 to Texas Ranger Houston manager Dusty Baker is reported ready to step down as Astro Manager after the ALCS loss that took place on.

The 74-year-old Baker who’s been with Houston since 2020 has expressed to multiple people outside and inside of the Astro organization that the 2023 season will be his last according to a Monday report from The Athletic.

On Monday night it’s unclear if Baker informed Houston of his reported desire during the series game seven, the report from the athletic also noted that Baker who is 18 year MLB veteran who earned his first managerial role in 1993 may not leave the game entirely as he wants to remain in baseball in some compacity.

Baker who has managed 26 major league seasons, has a career 2183-1862 regular season record, along with three pennants and one World Series title.

Baker has not publicly announced that he will be stepping down but he will not return for the 2024 season.
